Student Council did a great job collecting supplies for the troops in Afghanistan. Our school sent eight full boxes to the troops. Thanks to all our parents and students for supporting our project.
Student Council Election Rules
Student Council Election Day-Friday, September 16, 2011. Presidential candidates will give a speech (no longer than two minutes) to grades 3-5. All other candidates will introduce themselves. Voting will take place after the speeches. Only fourth and fifith grade students vote for the candidates.
Class Representatives' Election will take place after the election of the officers. The election will take place in the classroom and the names will be turned in to Mrs.Thornton by Thursday, September 22, 2011.
Swearing in Ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 6, at 2:30p.m. by the Honorable Judge Patrick DeJean. Students must have an "A" or "B" in conduct in order to run for office. In order to remain in student council, you must remain in good academic (2.0 or greater average) and behavorial standing. If you miss two student council meetings you will be dismissed from the council. Student Council Meetings will be held on the following dates in room 5 from 3:25-4:15 p.m. 1. October 18, 2011 2.
